This scroll shows an armor from the Sengoku era (1482-1568) which is draped on a storage chest (gusoku bitsu) for exhibition purposes. In the foreground there are a tachi and a wakizashi on a sword stand. Impressive and colourful kagemono. Honshi: Handpainted on silk Artist: unknown Date: Probably around 1940 (Mid Shôwa) Length: approx. 154 cm Width: approx. 44 cm Material chûmawashi: Brocade silk Material honshi: Paper Material ichimonji: Brocade silk Material tenchi: Brocade silk Material of the endpieces (jikubô): Wood Condition: Well preserved despite its age. Brillant colours; Slight and barely visible mould spots/age spots in the honshi. Bend in the middle. Age spots at the back side. Right side of the jikusaki is damaged.
