This scroll shows a daimyô in armor from the late Sengoku era (1482-1568). The crest shows that he could be a member of the family Ota (Yamato) oder Arima (Echizen) as they wear melon blossoms in their mon.

Impressive, powerful and well preserved kagemono.

Date: Around 1935 (early Shôwa)

Material ichimonji: Brocade silk

Material of the endpieces (jikusaki): Wood

Condition: Good, fresh colours; The scroll is paited in lightweight and sweeping way.
The honshi is darkened due to its age. Some rolling traces at the upper era of the tenchi.
All in all a beautiful scroll.
