The nightly scene shows a samurai armed with two katana. He holds one sword in his hands. It seems that this sheet is the right half of a dyptich.
The crest on his kimono shows a scroll amulet (tsutsu-mamori) and possibly indicates to a branch of the family Ikeda or Kaneko.

Format: approx. 23 x 35 cm. (Oban)
Year of publication: around 1860
Condition: Clean and cut sheet. Due to a damage in the upper right edge, the sheet has been repaired and reinforced all over.
Colours: Brilliant and good.
