Armor of a samurai | ||
This scroll shows an armor from the sengoku era (1482-1568) which has - for exhibition purposes - placed on a storage chest (gusoku bitsu). Impressive, powerful and well preserved kagemono. Honshi: Handpainted on silk Artist: : 翠山 Suizan Date: around 1950 (Mid Shôwa) Length: approx. 200 cm Width: approx. 55 cm Material chûmawashi: Brocade silk Material honshi: Silk Material ichimonji: Brocade silk Material tenchi: Silk Material of the endpieces (jikubô): Horn Condition: Good, fresh colours; The honshi is darkened due to its age. Slight mould stains overall. The upper era of the tenchi has two water stains on the right side. The left edge is damaged and has some worm holes. Some rolling traces at the tenchi.
