Kabuto This scroll shows a 10-plates helmet of the hoshi-kabuto type with powerful maedate and very broad "helmet ears" which were typical from the 12th until the 13th century. Decorative and swinging drawn kagemono with brilliant colours. Honshi: Handpainted (colour) on paper. Artist: Unknown, however with seal. Date: Probably around 1955 (Mid Shôwa) Length: approx. 180 cm Width: approx. 42 cm Material honshi: Paper Material chûmawashi: Paper Material ichimonji: Silk brocade Material tenchi: Paper Material of the endpieces (jikubô): Wood Condition: Good, fresh colours; Little mould spots on the honshi due to its age.
