Samurai wearing civilian clothes

This scroll shows a Japanese noble wearing traditional clothes. A very interesting detail of this image is that there is no family crest (mon) on the haori - which is usual. Either the picture has not been finished or the mon was left out intentionally.

Honshi: Handpainted on silk.
Artist: Unknow, however with seal.
Date: approx. 1950 (Mid Shôwa).

Material chûmawashi: Silk brocade
Material ichimonji: Silk
Material of the endpieces (jikubô): Wood, red oak.
Condition: Very good, fresh colours; The whole scroll is slightly brwon due to its age; single mould spots in the honshi; apart from that faultless state of preservation.
