Eboshi-kabuto
 
This scroll shows a samurai helm in the shape of an eboshi. The background is decorated with grass. A wonderful and swinging drawn kagemono.

Honshi: Handpainted on paper
Artist: Unknown, however with seal.
Date: Around 1950 (Mid Shôwa).
Length: approx. 175 cm
Width: approx. 41 cm
Material chûmawashi: Paper
Material honshi: Paper
Material ichimonji: Brocade silk
Material tenchi: Paper
Material of the endpieces (jikubô): Horn

Condition: Good, fresh colours; honshi slightly brown due to its age, single crease marks. Small wormholes in the area of the tenchi and honshi. At the jikusaki-hidari, the horn cover is missing. All in all a beautiful scroll.
