The aim of this book is to present a manual of self-defence, Kime Waza, for the practised Judoka and the Tyro alike.

Hitherto, few self-defence books have presented this subject as an integral part of Judo. This book is based on the Kime-no-Kata of the Kodokan and the specialized Kime Waza of the Marunouchi Police Dojo in Tokyo.
